STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK

There are four fundamental elements that guide our day to day work.  For us to be successful, it is important that our daily work is guided by the following four strategic goals.

  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & ATTRACTION

    • Support start-up and existing businesses (connect with tools & resources provide technical assistance)
       

    • Execute customized BRE strategy to leverage growth opportunities with existing businesses
       

    • Actively support and provide technical assistance to businesses impacted by the pandemic
       

    • Maintain comprehensive available commercial and industrial database for properties in Service Area
       

    • Proactively pursue and advance redevelopment of vacant former big box sites
       

    • Continue working to remove barriers and streamline process to advance development in service area
       

    • Leverage workforce development programs and resources and strengthen workforce pipeline between educational institutions and businesses
       

    • Implement business education and training efforts 

  • MARKETING & PROMOTION

    • Streamline messaging to tell GFF story & dellinate for other organizations whom align
       

    • Proactively market available properties in GFF Service Area 
       

    • Establish Greater Fergus Falls as the face of economic development in the GFF area through public presentations, sponsorships and trade shows
       

    • Utilize social media and online advertising to promote GFF services, community and programs
       

    • Promote area demographics, assets and site selection criteria

  • PARTNERSHIPS

    • Encourage long range plan for future industrial park development with supporting infrastructure to service existing businesses and attract new by partnering with private and public stakeholders
       

    • Strengthen relationships with stakeholders in communities in service area - strengthening our region is key to long term success
       

    • Partner with private and public property owners to increase shovel ready site inventory in service area
       

    • Leverage Workforce Solutions/MState to advance mission, address area employer workforce needs
       

    • Strengthen relationships with local, regional, state and national individuals and organizations that support and enhance GFF mission

  • ORGANIZATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

    • Strengthen presence throughout Service Area
       

    • Establish and execute comprehensive fundraising approach

    • Establish appropriate policies and processes
       

    • Identify alternative sources of funding 
       

    • Develop and sustain GFF Staff and Board
